SAPA and Pharmacists of the University of Khartoum Launch Treatment Days in Bahri

In a humanitarian and national initiative that reflects the spirit of solidarity, the Sudanese Doctors Association in the United States of America (SAPA), in cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy Students Association at the University of Khartoum, carried out a health convoy at the “Shaabia North” center in Bahri locality. This initiative aimed to provide free treatment and awareness services to the residents of the region and neighboring areas in order to alleviate their suffering under the current exceptional circumstances.

Over the course of two days, the convoy received 705 beneficiaries. The services included general medicine clinics, a pharmacy that provided free medicines, and an integrated laboratory for basic examinations.

The events also extended to health education sessions and psychological and environmental awareness, with a special focus on combating seasonal epidemics such as malaria and dengue fever through school campaigns and home visits.

Dr. Abdulrahman Abdullah, from the Sudanese American Physicians Association office in the United States of America (Khartoum office), explained that the convoy succeeded in meeting the needs of patients thanks to the great support provided by “SAPA,” stressing that the medical services reached the deserving people with high efficiency.

The President of the Faculty of Pharmacy Students’ Association at the University of Khartoum, Dr. Dhafer Mubarak, stressed that the initiative represents a “golden period” to train students and enhance their societal role in the post-war phase, noting that the fieldwork enhances coordination skills with official authorities and organizations.

Director of the treatment day, Ayman Abdel Moez, explained that the idea was launched as a student initiative in response to the damage caused to the city of Bahri, praising the generous support of “SAPA,” which provided medical and pharmaceutical supplies that helped the teams perform their tasks with high efficiency.
