Rapid Support Forces Target Civilian Sites in Al-Mazmum

On Thursday morning, February 19, 2026, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched a new drone attack on the city of Al-Mazmum in Sennar State, southeastern Sudan, targeting several civilian sites.

Military sources reported that the attack caused widespread damage to civilian infrastructure, and efforts are underway to assess the losses.

The sources confirmed that the targeted areas are inhabited by civilians, not military forces.

In a related incident, the same forces targeted an agricultural facility in the Abdul-Mawla Al-Zubair Hamida Farms project, southwest of Al-Mazmum, on Wednesday evening, destroying a civilian truck loaded with corn. This follows a previous attack by the RSF on Monday, February 16, on Al-Mazmum Hospital, which resulted in the death of three people and injuries to seven others, including medical personnel, while they were performing their humanitarian duties.

In recent days, drone attacks have escalated in the states of Sennar, Kordofan, Blue Nile, and Darfur, drawing widespread political and human rights condemnation.

In this context, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk expressed grave concern over reports of more than 50 civilians killed in four states in just two days, stressing that these attacks serve as “a stark reminder of the devastating consequences for civilians of the escalating use of drones in the war in Sudan.”
