PM Holds Important Meeting in Istanbul

On his way back from the Munich Security Conference, Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris made a point of stopping in Istanbul to hold a series of meetings with the Sudanese mission, the Sudanese community, and the Businessmen’s Association, in the presence of a number of senior officials and advisors.

Ambassador Nader Al-Tayeb provided a comprehensive briefing on Sudanese-Turkish relations and ways to develop them, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation. The head of the Sudanese community, Engineer Nizar Atta Al-Mannan, reviewed the contributions of Sudanese in Istanbul to supporting the war on terror and overcoming obstacles facing the Sudanese presence there.

On the economic front, the head of the Businessmen’s Association, Ahmed Musa Hussein Darar, stressed the need to build strategic partnerships between the private sectors of both countries, with a focus on benefiting from Turkish expertise in the field of clean energy.

The head of the Sudanese Students Union in Turkey, Qatada Kamal Al-Toumi Youssef, pointed to the positive role played by students through their academic participation in Turkish universities and competitions, reflecting a positive image of Sudan.

These meetings reflect the Prime Minister’s keenness to link diplomatic efforts with the popular and economic dimensions, thereby enhancing Sudan’s presence on the international stage and strengthening ties with Sudanese communities abroad.
