Governor of West Darfur State: Education is a National Priority that Cannot be Postponed

The Governor of West Darfur State, General Bahr al-Din Adam Karama, affirmed the commitment of the state government to make education a national priority that cannot be postponed, stressing that the current stage requires investment in human beings as the basis of renaissance and stability. This came during his meeting with the Federal Minister of Education , Dr. Al-Tohamy Al-Zein Hajar, where the two sides discussed the issues of teachers and students of West Darfur State inside and outside the country, as well as the evaluation of the experience of the previous exams.

“The real bet is to build a conscious, educated, and responsible generation—a generation that builds a prosperous, towering, and healthy Sudan, free from all the ills of the past,” the governor said, stressing that education represents the basic entrance to building peace and consolidating the values of citizenship and coexistence.

The meeting dealt with the arrangements for the students of the state to sit for the Sudanese certificate exams and to address the administrative and technical aspects related to the students’ lists. In addition, it discussed the issue of the textbook and the need to provide it in a timely manner, especially in the areas of asylum and displacement.

For his part, the Federal Minister of Education stressed the Ministry’s keenness to work jointly with the West Darfur State government, overcome the obstacles facing teachers and students, and enhance coordination to achieve educational stability and educational justice in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through.
