Minister of Youth and Sports Inaugurates Leadership Skills Training Course, Emphasizes Investing in Human Capital as Key to Sudan’s Stability
At the Youth and Children’s Palace, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Professor Ahmed Adam, inaugurated a specialized leadership skills training course for young people. The course is organized by the Ministry and the Sudanese Youth Forum, in cooperation with the African Center for Governance, Peace, and Transition Studies (AcoGaps).
Addressing the opening session, which was attended by prominent leaders, the Minister emphasized that building the capacity of human resources is the state’s top priority at this stage, as it is the cornerstone for utilizing Sudan’s natural resources and achieving comprehensive development.
He explained that the modern world has become entirely dependent on the concepts of governance and technology, which has prompted the Ministry to focus on qualifying and empowering young people to become future leaders capable of overcoming the effects of war and building a safe and stable Sudan.
He also commended the active participation of women in the course, describing them as “the empress of life,” and affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to opening wider opportunities for young people and women to develop their administrative and leadership skills.
Minister concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the continuation of training activities within the Youth and Children’s Palace in Khartoum sends a strong message about the stability of the security situation and the return of institutions to their normal role in serving the community. The training course is scheduled to continue until Thursday, January 15th, covering all aspects related to empowering youth and developing their capacities in the areas of governance and leadership.
The first day of the course also featured addresses by Engineer Mohamed Salah El-Din Sirri, Chairman of the Sudanese Youth Forum; Dr. Mahmoud Zain El-Abdine Mahmoud, Director General of AcoGaps; and Zulfiqar Ali Mohamed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Human Development and Labor.
Following the opening session, the academic activities commenced with intensive lectures presented by Professor Sir El-Khatim Abdel-Rahim Toto, an expert in administrative development and peacebuilding. These lectures addressed the characteristics of leadership in emergency situations and effective administrative leadership skills to enhance the participants’ ability to deal with current challenges.
