Kamel Idris affirms the keenness of the Government of Hope to enhance cooperation with Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies

Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris affirmed the keenness of the Government of Hope to enhance cooperation with the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies and facilitate their work tasks. This came during his meeting this afternoon with the Secretary-General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, Dr. Abdullah bin Sahl, in the presence of Dr. Abdulrahman Belaid, President of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Secretary General of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, and Ambassador Hamed Al-Jazouli, Director of the Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Kamel welcomed the important solidarity visit, which comes at a very sensitive time, and pointed out that the visit reflects the organization’s interest in the humanitarian situation in the country.
During the meeting, Kamel expressed the appreciation of the Government of Hope for the efforts of the Arab Red Cross and Crescent Societies at the level of the Arab world in general and Sudan in particular. The meeting addressed the scale of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan and the increasing basic needs in all humanitarian fields.
The Secretary-General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, Dr. Abdullah bin Sahl, expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister for providing the opportunity for this meeting and affirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting the efforts of the Sudanese Red Crescent. He pointed out that they are in the process of calling for the establishment of an inclusive donor conference in Sudan, in coordination and cooperation with the International Red Cross Society, the King Salman Center, and the United Nations.
