Joint Force Announces Recapture of Area in North Darfur

The joint force supporting the Sudanese Armed Forces announced the complete recapture of the Jirjira area in North Darfur State, following battles that resulted in the expulsion of the Rapid Support Forces militia from the area.

In an official statement, the joint force confirmed that the operation was part of ongoing military movements aimed at establishing security and stability in the Darfur region. It noted that the recapture of Jirjira is a significant step on the ground in securing the areas and restricting the movements of the Rapid Support Forces.

The statement added that the forces are continuing their advance according to a well-defined military plan, in coordination with other regular forces, to ensure the recapture of areas experiencing security tensions and to protect civilians and their property.
