Interior Minister and Khartoum Governor sign the police logbook, marking the beginning of the year 2026

Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Babiker Samra Mustafa, and the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman, witnessed the signing of the police logbook at Khartoum (3) Police Station in Khartoum, marking the beginning of the year 2026. This took place in the presence of the Director General of the Sudanese Police Forces, Lieutenant General Amir Abdel Moneim Fadl, the Director of Khartoum State Police, Lieutenant General Siraj Al-Din Mansour, and members of the State Security Committee. The Minister of Interior congratulated the Sudanese people on the 70th anniversary of Sudan’s independence, saying, “We bid farewell to one year and welcome a new one. The country is moving forward, and the armed forces are achieving victory after victory. The Sudanese people stand behind their armed forces in all their formations to repel this foreign invasion, not to rebel. What is happening in Sudan, with the influx of weapons and mercenaries from neighboring countries and across the oceans, is nothing but a foreign invasion. The armed forces have remained steadfast and resolute, advancing and liberating every inch of this country from any aggressor and every opportunist.” He added, “Security is coming, and Khartoum is witnessing significant change in many areas, including security.” The services provided, in addition to the voluntary return, will be completed with the return of all state institutions. The Governor of Khartoum called for the beginning of this year to be promising with victories and the defeat of the militias in the country. He praised the steadfastness of Sudanese citizens during the war and the sacrifices they made, especially the citizens of the state who endured many violations during the war. He thanked the armed forces and the forces supporting them in the Battle of Dignity, especially the police forces, and offered condolences for their martyrs. He noted their excellent performance during the Battle of Dignity and in establishing security and stability. The Governor said that since July 2025, many tasks have been transferred to the police forces, especially after the issuance of Resolution 153 by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, which formed the Supreme Committee to create a sound environment for the return of the citizens of Khartoum State, headed by Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, a member of the Sovereignty Council, and through the sub-committee for controlling security and imposing the state’s authority, headed by Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabroun, Minister of Defense, and with Lieutenant General Babiker Samra, Minister of Interior, as alternate head. He pointed to the most important work done during the previous period, noting that the celebrations in Khartoum State this year were comprehensive, covering all parts of the state, which enjoys security and stability in all its regions.
