Doctors Network: Two Killed, Dozens Injured in Militia Attack on Dilling

A man and a woman were killed on Saturday, and dozens of civilians sustained varying injuries in the city of Dilling, South Kordofan State, after the “Fath Al-Rahman” neighborhood was targeted by a march launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) faction led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu.

The Sudanese Doctors Network stated in a press release that this deliberate attack targeted residential areas and civilian facilities, in clear violation of all international calls to cease targeting civilians.

The Network strongly condemned this attack, holding the RSF and the SPLM-N (al-Hilu faction) fully responsible for this crime. It also denounced the continued violations against unarmed civilians and the use of suicide marches in populated areas, which constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

The network called on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities and to urgently pressure the Rapid Support Forces and the al-Hilu faction to lift the siege on Dilling, immediately cease targeting civilians, ensure unhindered access for humanitarian aid, and hold those responsible for these violations accountable to achieve justice and prevent impunity.
