Dengue Fever; the Plague of the Era !

By: Prof. kirya Ahmed Nasr
Ish, ish ! … What is that crying? Listen ! Here it comes again. What time is it now? – 2:30 a.m? It might be some thieves. No … no, no ! It’s like saying news of a “death”. It’s at the directions of Ahmed’s.
Hey, do you know Ahmed’s son-in-law, who is just next-door. It says: he has “kicked the bucket”; yep, “passed away”; died; matt. Just of a severe fever. Yesterday I nearly to go to say expiation, but something totally made me forget. What a sudden farwelling! We’re so sorry for the loss.
A rumour goes: he died of this “new” fever. Wow ! The “Dengue Fever”. It’s common here these days. May Allah care for us. But, what is that “Dengue Fever” that every “Tom and Dick” talks about? What are its symptoms? What really causes it? So scary this bloody fever !
Dengue fever is primarily transmitted by the “Aedes” mosquito, specially:
(1) Aedes aegypti.
(2) Aedes albopictus.
You see ! If you attentively focus on the last two words of the two “classes”, you could come to an analysis that tells you the first one has something to do with “Egypt”; Am I right? – Cast a close look then ! – “aegypti”. Doesn’t it include the letters of our “sisterly neighbouring country”? Just if you have to remove the first letter and the last one, then “the skeleton will be out of the cupboard”.
Focusing on the second word of No. 2, and particularly towards its end, you find the syllable – ict – which is a type of a laboratory check for Malaria. Then, those mosquitoes are known to transmit the “dengue” virus through their bites.
Well, I saw this species with my “naked eye”. It’s small in size, it has white beautiful dots decorate both sides and about the wings also. Hey, don’t gaze to eye-line your eyes with this beautiful “portrait”, lest not to “bite” you while gazing.
This hot weather is sure to make it a good habitat and environment to host a number of diseases; malaria, typhus, meningitis, and many others.
Hey! Stop! Have you happened to hear of this new fashion disease that in vogue? Take me serious; I’m not kidding.Yep, on turning on my TV I usually find these days, an episode on, or an interview about this new plague of the era. The announcer repetitively says the name – Dengue Fever. My nephew, who is so close to me, couldn’t keep right the name correctly; he goes stammering and mumbling, trying to fix it right.
A brand new model of mosquitoes. They call it an “Egyptian mosquito” , like that “Ethiopian one”. Okay! Then, Egypt brings us so many valuable things; all sorts of commodities and the different sorts and kinds of “fruit”, vegetables, articles of clothings, ice-cream, “andomi” and “shoes”. You see ?! Yes, they give us “shoes”. And finally, they handed us this so beautiful “insect” to help us economically. By the way, this very “mosquito 🦟” – you see it ? It’s very beautiful – is so active during the day hours. So, don’t be deceived to take an afternoon “nap” outside your “net”! Hear me? Do, please !
The African Union should urgently interfere and stop importing like “such commodities” to us; we have enough of this already !
