A network active in smuggling weapons and antiquities at the border arrested

The command of the reconnaissance forces was able to arrest a network active in the smuggling of weapons, ammunition, and antiquities in the borders adjacent to the plains of Butaneh.

This operation resulted in the seizure of 39 Kalashnikovs and a number of sniper rifles, in addition to 15 Kalashnikov machine guns, 22,000 Kalashnikov rounds, and quantities of ammunition and other weapons.

A field source said that the network consists of 11 individuals who are habitual criminals, and legal action has been taken against them. He pointed out that investigations revealed that the network operates within the framework of internationally organized crime and is considered one of the cross-border crimes. The operation is part of the reconnaissance forces’ efforts to maintain security and stability in the country.
