On this day in 1955, the Sudanese parliament was not a hall of legislation, but a confrontational arena in which consciousness triumphed over tutelage, the will to dominate, and the homeland over all forms of slavery. On that day, Sudan, which was born free in 1955, is now under the brunt of a full-blown assassination attempt—an assassination of its unity, its sovereignty , and the idea of the state itself.

There are those who want to replace the parliament with cannons, the institutions with the militia, and sovereignty with the power of foreign tutelage. There are those who trade in the blood of the Sudanese, and have mortgaged the country abroad, and they thought that ruin could be called politics.

We renew our irrevocable pledge to all the Sudanese people, especially to our people in West Darfur, to the fighters on the front lines, to the displaced people and refugees who tasted the bitterness of betrayal before the war:
Our battle is not a battle of power, but a battle of existence, a battle of dignity, and a battle of second independence against the Janjaweed militias, against mercenary politicians, and against all forms of foreign tutelage, no matter how colorful they may be.

He renewed the dignity of the pledge to cleanse the homeland of militias, war merchants and tools of sabotage, restore the entire state without diminishment, preserve sovereignty, impose the prestige of the law, and build a Sudan that is not run by extortion and is not ruled by blood.
