Sudanese-Nigerian Cooperation in the Fields of Social Protection

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mutassim Ahmed Saleh, announced cooperation and coordination between Sudan and Nigeria in the fields of social protection.
He stated on his Facebook page that a meeting was held with the Minister of Women and Social Development of the State of Nigeria, Iman Suleiman Ibrahim Ali. On the sidelines of the meetings of the Council of Ministers of Arab Affairs in the Jordanian capital, Amman, where Nigeria is participating as a guest, he mentioned that the meeting discussed the exchange of experiences and building real partnerships based on the principle of effective collaboration, with a focus on social protection programs in light of displacement.
Saleh proposed a joint work program between the two countries to empower women in conflict zones, especially in light of the similar challenges. He revealed that the meeting was committed to preparing a memorandum of understanding in the fields of social protection and women’s empowerment, exchanging visits and experiences, and forming a joint implementation team.
