Sudanese-Kuwaiti Talks on the Sidelines of the 45th Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs

On the sidelines of the 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mr. Mutasem Ahmed Saleh, met with the Minister of Social Development of the State of Kuwait, Ahmad Hadi Al-Huwaila, in the presence of the Ambassador of Sudan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ambassador Hassan Saleh Swar Al-Dhahab, and from the Kuwaiti side, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development.

The meeting discussed ways to support and enhance the health and social protection of vulnerable segments in Sudan, especially the displaced and vulnerable groups. The two sides discussed expanding health coverage through health insurance, supporting health centers with medical devices and equipment, and providing essential medicines, in addition to meeting the needs of people with disabilities, especially materials used in the manufacture of prosthetics and prosthetic devices.

Mutasem Ahmed Saleh stressed the strength and depth of Sudanese-Kuwaiti relations, appreciating the humanitarian and development support that the State of Kuwait has been providing to the Sudanese people. This support includes humanitarian aid and development projects, such as the East Sudan Reconstruction Fund.
