Sennar launches the “Therapeutic Medicine Forum” from Jebel Moya to lead Sudan’s recovery and build its future

Therapeutic medicine refers to treatments, drugs, and practices used to cure, manage, or prevent disease and injury, aiming to restore health, relieve symptoms, or improve function, encompassing everything from prescription drugs (antibiotics, antidepressants) to surgeries, physical therapy, and even counseling, all focused on positive health outcomes.
In essence, therapeutic medicine is the practical application of medical knowledge to heal and improve well-being, using diverse methods to combat illness
The activities of the Federal Therapeutic Medicine Forum were launched in Sinja under the slogan “Despite what happened… We must continue,” with the participation of the Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, the Governor of Sennar, Major General Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, along with the directors of health in the states and medical staff.
The minister stressed that Sennar has become a platform for Sudan’s recovery, praising the steadfastness of the “White Army” and announcing plans to develop treatment systems and reach all states with a focus on the health of vulnerable groups.
The Undersecretary explained that the forum aims to unify visions and overcome challenges by providing medicine, localizing treatment, and supporting cadres , while the governor of Sennar considered hosting the forum as proof of the state’s steadfastness and historical symbolism, he announced his government’s commitment to the reconstruction of hospitals and the localization of specialized treatment.
The local community and international organizations participated in supporting the forum, where the representative of the World Health Organization praised the resilience of the health system and the dedication of the cadres, stressing the organization’s commitment to supporting universal health coverage and the development of personnel.
The Director of the General Directorate of Therapeutic Medicine, Dr. Haider Abdel Nabi, also saluted the steadfastness of the doctors in Sennar and El Fasher, pointing out that the forum discusses scientific papers to enhance health services and develop the capabilities of the workforce, stressing that its outputs will be a practical roadmap for the recovery of the health sector in Sudan.
Dr. Haider Mohammed Abdel Nabi, confirmed that the forum aims to develop therapeutic services and improve their quality in a way that contributes to enhancing cooperation between health institutions and expanding the circle of benefit for citizens.
He explained that the forum represents a platform for exchanging experiences between medical and administrative cadres, stressing that its results will Reflecting positively on improving the quality of therapeutic services and facilitating citizens’ access to them within the state, Dr. Haider pointed out the most prominent benefits expected from the forum.
The most important of these is the strengthening of cooperation between the Federal and State Ministries of Health, the development of practical plans for the enhancement of hospitals and health centers, the training of medical staff and raising their capabilities, and reducing the pressure on reference hospitals in the capital. Additionally, it opens the way for new initiatives in the field of therapeutic medicine.
Director General of the Ministry of Health in Sennar State, Dr. Ibrahim Ali Al-Awad welcomed the participants, especially field cadres, the armed forces, and the judicial authorities, in addition to the symbols of the civil administration led by Sultan “Mirno.” Dr. Al-Awad said: “Sennar’s hosting of this forum comes in honor of the exceptional efforts of the state in providing health services during the past period,” praising the pioneering role of the state’s medical staff led by Dr. Jamal Al-Tayeb, stressing the continuous pursuit of improving performance and achieving integration in medical services despite the challenges.
Valuing the role of society and organizations, Khader Sheikh Idris, a representative of the local community in the locality of Sinja, welcomed the federal and state leaders, describing the meeting as “a medal of merit for the state of Sennar and the steadfastness of its people.” Sheikh Idris also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Humanitarian Action Commission, international organizations and international agencies for their pivotal roles in supporting the health sector, stressing that the concerted efforts of the people and the government is the rock on which all the difficulties facing the region are broken.
