Federal Minister of Health: The Reconstruction of Sennar Begins with the Strengthening of Health Services

The Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed Mohammed, the Governor of Sennar State, Major General Rukn Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed, the Minister of Health, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Awad, and a number of leaders of the Federal Ministry of Health, concluded a field visit to Sennar to assess the readiness of health services in the state.
During the tour, the minister stressed that the reconstruction and restoration of health services is a top priority at the current stage, emphasizing the importance of the return of health insurance services, which were suspended as a result of the recent events, as health institutions and citizens were subjected to extensive looting by the Rapid Support Militias.
The minister pointed out that the community is a key partner in supporting the health sector, calling for strengthening cooperation between citizens and medical staff in what he described as the “white army.” He praised the efforts of the state government in paying attention to the health sector despite the challenges.
The delegation inspected a number of health facilities, including the Sennar Military Health Center, which provides its services to civilians and military personnel, in addition to the Oncology Center and the Ophthalmology Department at Sennar Teaching Hospital, where they learned about the progress of work and the needs of these facilities
