Malik Agar: Efforts underway to neutralize influential countries and contacts with Kenya and Colombia
Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, expressed his confidence in the victory of the armed forces, stating that the army “will not be defeated.”
In a televised interview, Agar called on all those capable to take up arms to mobilize and defend their regions, urging everyone in all fields to contribute to the defense and preservation of Sudan.
He emphasized that the armed forces do not wish to remain in power and that their current duty is to end this war and manage a political process that leads to the transfer of power to the Sudanese people through elections.
He said that the war in Sudan does not only affect Sudan but also Africa, explaining that the ambitions targeting Sudan extend to many countries, and that what affects Sudan will affect Africa. He pointed to the importance of confronting these ambitions to preserve Sudan and the Horn of Africa. Regarding the countries supporting the terrorist militia, he said that some countries are directly involved, others are involved indirectly, and some institutions are implicated. He pointed to countries through which weapons and mercenaries pass, and whose airports are exploited, stressing the importance of neutralizing and warning such countries.
He added that Sudan has taken legal action against the UAE because it is among the countries that openly provide support, and confirmed that there are other influential countries whose positions are being addressed.
He mentioned the steps Sudan has taken in addressing Colombia regarding the mercenaries issue, and also noted its contacts with Kenya, including addressing the Kenyan president and parliament, as part of efforts to address these issues.
Aqar added that the armed forces will prevail and that reconstruction will spread throughout the country.
This will represent an opportunity to end the war, build the state, and achieve justice.
Aqar indicated that there is no party with whom they are currently negotiating, explaining that the Rapid Support Forces militia leadership does not control the war due to the presence of many countries and groups, such as the UAE and its mercenaries. Regarding the initiatives proposed by various parties such as IGAD, the African Union, and different platforms that have presented initiatives to stop the war, Agar said about his vision and assessment: “It is our right to study these initiatives and respond to them, if that initiative does not align with our national security and the unity of Sudan, both its land and its people.”
