Omdurman / The Citizen
On Wednesday, the British organization “Human Appeal” organized an awareness program within the project “Promoting Community Closeness and Social Peace – Peace on Wheels,” in the states of Gedaref and Khartoum, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Welfare in Khartoum State, the Humanitarian Aid Commission, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The program was held in the Heglija area, south of Omdurman, amid the presence of a large public of women in the area. The program included various activities aimed at spreading the concepts of social peace, peaceful coexistence, promoting community convergence, and rejecting hate speech, in addition to awareness messages that touch on local community issues.
The implementation of this program comes within the framework of the efforts of the organization and its partners to support peace initiatives, build the community fabric, and enhance the participation of local communities in consolidating the values of dialogue and tolerance.
