African Union Supports Sudan’s Peace Initiative

Chairman of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssef, welcomed the peace initiative submitted by the Sudanese government to the UN Security Council, describing it as a comprehensive framework aimed at preserving Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

He explained that the African Union attaches great importance to the political, humanitarian, and security aspects included in the proposal, considering it a reliable foundation upon which to build a sustainable peace in the country.

Youssef expressed his strong support for the initiative, emphasizing the African Union’s unwavering commitment to Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as its keenness to promote peace and security at both the regional and international levels.
