Health Minister Discusses Militia Violations in the Health Sector with Lawyers Union Investigation Committee

Federal Health Minister Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim met with the investigation committee of the Arab Lawyers Union, headed by its president Mohamed Al-Murad, accompanied by lawyer Abdul-Jawad Ahmed and a delegation from the Sudanese Bar Association, headed by its president Zain Al-Abidin Mohamed Ahmed. The committee was formed in November 2023 and is tasked with investigating and legally examining the crimes and violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militias, and gathering related evidence.
During the meeting, the Federal Ministry of Health reviewed the extent of the damage inflicted on health facilities and the violations committed against medical personnel. These included the looting and vandalism of hospitals, the theft of medical supplies and equipment, assaults on healthcare workers, and crimes of sexual assault and rape.
The Ministry of Health presented a comprehensive report with figures and details, and affirmed its full readiness to provide the committee with the necessary evidence and documents.
