Evaluation Workshop and Cooperation Agreement Between the National Health Insurance (NHIF) and Medical Supplies

The Director General of the National Medical Supplies Fund affirmed full support for the strategic partnership with the National Health Insurance Fund, praising the success of the workshop to evaluate the cooperation agreement between the two sides, which concluded yesterday at the Arquit Tourist Resort.
Addressing the closing session of the workshop, he explained that the level of positive interaction among the participants and transparency in presenting and discussing the challenges facing the implementation of the convention in some states contributed to the crystallization of a clear vision to address the problems related to implementation, especially through activating institutional coordination mechanisms and the formation of effective joint committees between the two parties.
The Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Farouk Nour Al Daiem, pledged full commitment to implementing the recommendations of the workshop, describing its outputs as a real starting point for more coordinated and integrated joint work between health insurance and medical supplies.
The participants recommended the formation of a joint higher committee between the two funds to follow up on the implementation of the agreement at the state level, receive and analyze state performance reports, and submit them to the joint monthly meeting. In addition, they emphasized the need to address the distortions in the health map and ensure the integrity and fairness of the distribution of health services provided through the operating facilities.
The recommendations also stressed the highest priority to provide the items on the list of health insurance medicines through medical supplies, as health insurance is the largest buyer of services, in addition to recommendingthe treatment of parallel supply systems through the gradual withdrawal of health insurance pharmacies in locations where medical supply services are available, and supporting the efforts of the National Fund for Medical Supplies in unifying the list of medicines and medical consumables for all partners in the health sector.
