Security and Defense Council Decisions Regarding the Paper by Massad Boulos

The Security and Defense Council held its meeting yesterday, chaired by Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi El-Din Salem, read the statement issued by the Council, which reviewed the overall security and political situation in the country.

The Council commended the Armed Forces and their supporting forces on the various battlefronts and congratulated them on the victories achieved on different fronts.

The Council condemned the atrocities that have been and continue to be committed in El Fasher and other areas.

The Council also expressed its gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and US President Donald Trump for their interest in Sudanese affairs and their desire to achieve a peace that preserves Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity.

The Security and Defense Council tasked the relevant authorities with responding to the paper submitted by Massad Boulos, Advisor to the US President on Arab and African Affairs.

The Council affirmed its commitment to the vision previously presented by the Sudanese government to the United Nations and other relevant bodies.

The Council also affirmed the Sudanese government’s commitment to facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid, opening roads, protecting humanitarian workers, ensuring aid reaches those in need, and keeping border crossings and airports open. The Council further emphasized its commitment to preserving the country’s security, stability, and sovereignty.
