Secretary General for Human Resources Development Meets with Director of the AcoCaps and Director of the Canadian Foundation for Sustainable Development
As part of the Supreme Council for Human Resources Development’s efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships and expand international cooperation, the Council’s Secretary General, Professor Zulfiqar, met in Port Sudan with Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abidine, Director General of the African Center for Governance, Peace, and Transition Studies (AcoCaps), and Dr. Muaz Hussein, representative of the Canadian Foundation for Sustainable Development.
During the meeting, the Secretary General emphasized the importance of partnerships in supporting reconstruction and development efforts and the rehabilitation of vocational and technical training centers in Khartoum State. He noted that joint cooperation contributes to rapid interventions, identifying gaps, and addressing the challenges left by the recent war.
The meeting explored opportunities to mobilize support for the rehabilitation of vocational and entrepreneurship training centers damaged by the war, in addition to marketing vocational training projects through necessary technical studies. The meeting also discussed the possibility of AcoCaps and the Canadian Foundation contributing to revitalizing the rural economy through economic and professional empowerment programs in partnership with national and international institutions.
For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abidine affirmed AcoCaps commitment to supporting capacity-building programs for Khartoum State employees. He noted the implementation of several training courses aimed at developing effective administrative leadership skills in emergency situations, targeting senior state officials.
He explained that the Center will hold two training workshops in the coming period. The first will discuss employment issues in a post-war context, and the second, titled “Organizing the Contribution of Vocational Training to Voluntary Return and Reconstruction,” will be conducted in partnership with relevant federal ministries.
