RSF Source More than half of RSF militia fighters are foreigners

A source within the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia revealed in a private statement that more than half of its current fighters are foreign nationals recruited in recent months from Colombia, South Sudan, Chad, Libya, the Central African Republic, Ethiopia, and other countries.

The source explained that foreign fighters constitute the majority within the field units deployed in Darfur, Kordofan, and Khartoum, noting that most of them receive salaries in dollars and report directly to non-Sudanese field commanders.

He added that a number of field commanders have expressed their dissatisfaction with the leadership’s increasing reliance on foreign elements, asserting that this has led to a decline in combat discipline and an increase in mutinies and defections within the militia.

This statement is one of the first to come out from within the ranks of the militia since the beginning of the war, and it supports previous reports that spoke of the involvement of regional parties in recruiting mercenaries and sending them to Sudan to fight alongside the Rapid Support Forces.
