Qatari Court Sentences Al-Walid Madbou to Prison and Deportation

A Qatari court issued a ruling in the case filed by Ambassador Amira Qurnas against Al-Walid Madbou, an activist who supports the Rapid Support Forces militia. The case stemmed from complaints filed against him for defaming her in articles he published on news websites.

The court sentenced the convicted individual to one year in prison, followed by deportation from the country after serving his sentence. He was also fined 50,000 Qatari Riyals, payable to the state.

According to the court, the civil aspect of the case was referred to the competent authority to consider the claim for compensation for the alleged damages.
