Minnawi Speaks About Egypt’s Role in Sudan

Darfur Governor, Minni Arko Minnawi, accused the Rapid Support Forces militia of committing war crimes in El Fasher, noting that the violations are not limited to the city alone, but extend to other areas in Sudan, and include acts of murder and rape against women and children.

In statements to Cairo News Channel, Minnawi warned that the fall of El Fasher led to “bloodshed” stressing that the humanitarian situation in the city is extremely difficult, especially in light of the severe shortage of shelter, food, and water.

He added that displaced people in El Fasher face multiple threats, including kidnapping and indiscriminate killing, calling on the international community to take urgent action to stop the violations and protect civilians.

Minnawi also praised the Egyptian role in supporting the unity of Sudan, describing it as “positive and continuous,” at a time when the pace of the conflict is escalating and regional and international mediation efforts are faltering.
