Decision on the Computerization of Work at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare

Issued by the Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mutasem Ahmed Saleh, the decision to implement work computerization in all units of the Ministry was announced. The decision, signed by the Minister, stipulated the formation of a committee headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications as Alternate Chairman, and the Director of the Information Center as Rapporteur.
The decision appointed the members of the committee, which includes the Director of Media and Public Relations, headed by the National Health Insurance Fund, Ali Abu Ali Ibrahim; Yasser Mohamed Ali from the Bureau of Service Affairs; Ali Ahmed Ali from the National Training Council; Abdulrahman Yousef Ahmed from the National Civil Service Selection Commission; and Naji Abdel Farraj Idris from the Supreme Council for Vocational Training and Apprenticeships, and Sumaya Mohajer Youssef from the General Directorate of Employment and Immigration.
The decision specified the tasks and competencies of the committee in assessing the current status of the Information Center at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare, conducting a study of the previous regulations at the Ministry and evaluating the possibility of continuing to work with them or replacing them.
The decision entrusted the committee with developing a detailed action plan for digital transformation at the Ministry in cooperation with the competent authorities, in addition to identifying the challenges facing the computerization of work at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare.
The Minister’s decision directed the Committee to develop a proposal for networking between the various units of the Ministry in coordination with the competent authorities.
The minister set a period of one month for the committee to submit its final report.
Senior sources described the minister’s decision as a practical step and out-of-the-box thinking to gather information that the government has lost as a result of the militia’s actions aimed at erasing the national memory distinguished in social work.
Observers praised the minister’s decision, describing it as an important approach towards achieving e-government, which allows all segments of society to know the services provided by the ministry, facilitates procedures related to social services, and provides communication spaces while enhancing transparency. They added that it represents the beginning of the launch of the Sudanese social number and linking the ministry’s units, which leads to raising the level of coordination in social work, in addition to providing a service to receive information for vulnerable segments from their sources.
