Call between Egyptian and Saudi Foreign Ministers and Reaffirmations Regarding Sudan

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a phone call between Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This call took place within the framework of ongoing consultations and coordination between the two countries regarding bilateral relations and regional issues of common interest.
In a press statement, the Ministry said that the call addressed the course of bilateral relations between the two countries. The two ministers affirmed the depth and strength of the fraternal ties that bind Egypt and the Kingdom, and the increasing momentum these ties are witnessing at various political, economic, and developmental levels.
The statement added that the two ministers discussed developments in Sudan, reiterating the importance of a ceasefire and creating the conditions for launching a comprehensive political process that preserves Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and stability.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Abdel-Aty expressed Egypt’s condemnation of the horrific atrocities and violations taking place in El Fasher, calling for concerted regional and international efforts to support the Sudanese people and their national institutions.
