Army Takes Control of Two Areas in Kordofan

The Sudanese Armed Forces have regained control of the Umm Dam Haj Ahmed area in North Kordofan State, after fierce battles With the Rapid Support Forces militia, according to field sources.

According to multiple media sources, the army also managed to regain control of the Kazqil area south of El Obeid, amid continued military advances on several fronts in North Kordofan State.

Initial reports indicate that the operation is part of a broader campaign by the armed forces to restore security to vital roads and areas surrounding El Obeid, within a wider strategy to pursue militia elements and push them away from population centers.
