Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare addresses the Training Workshop on Cost – based pricing of Health Services

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mutasem Ahmed Saleh, said that the National Health Insurance Fund has restored service in 1,047 facilities by the end of the first half of this year, 2025.
Addressing the opening session of the Cost-Based Health Services Pricing Workshop at the Kassala branch on Monday, he described the move as a major achievement in light of the complex circumstances that the country is going through, in addition to its excellence in providing additional packages.
Saleh explained that health insurance provided services through more than 3,600 facilities before the war, which declined to 611 facilities after the outbreak of the war.
He celebrated the support of partners to the health system, led by the World Health Organization (WHO), which supported 24 health insurance centers in safe states, “which helped fill the shortage in the host states for displaced people and host communities”, in addition to the support of UNICEF
Saleh revealed technical support from Japan’s JICA health insurance organization to provide medicines worth $1 million.
Saleh stressed the importance of the service pricing workshop, describing it as a strategic step towards ensuring the continuity and rationalization of services, especially in fragile areas.
He stressed the importance of the workshop in formulating scientific proposals for the pricing of services and the exchange of experiences in this aspect.
Saleh said the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare is working in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the international community to strengthen social protection.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, who addressed the workshop in Esfiriya, said that the reform of the health system is not done by reforming the funding.
The Undersecretary of the Federal Government Office, Aboudhar Al-Hafiz Al-Tayeb, described the workshop as an important step to achieve justice for citizens and achieve justice in health services.
