Khartoum is recovering : Resilience Building for Returnees and Host Communities Project” Concludes

The Cash-for-Work initiative is a large-scale cleaning campaign across all sectors of East Nile Locality. It was officially concluded on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

The Great Campaign for Cleanliness and Environmental Sanitation was organized by Sadaqat Charitable Organization within its cash-for-work project, funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in cooperation with the East Nile Local Sanitation Authority.

The youth who participated in the campaign in East Nile locality confirmed that the project to enhance resilience and recovery is a great initiative. The campaign was able to bring together all the youth of the area for one goal, which is to bring about a positive change in their communities through cleanliness, waste removal, and reflecting a beautiful image in their community.

They also pointed out that this campaign is a great opportunity to unleash the energies of the youth and raise their morale, especially after the circumstances they experienced during the war of destruction, displacement, and psychological trauma.

They said that the campaign made them feel the importance of the spirit of teamwork, belonging, and loyalty to the region, and it created strong relationships between team members, which reflected positively on the work environment. Despite the fatigue, it added an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment.

They said that teamwork makes you know the value of yourself, the value of work, and the value of your country. They hope that everyone in the campaign will come up with new concepts, ideas, and also learn from mistakes to avoid them in the future.

They expressed their thanks to Sadagaat Charity Organization, UNDP, and the East Nile Local Sanitation Authority, saying that they are ready to implement any project in the area that benefits the population.
