Jaber Affirms Government Support for Industrial Sector to Achieve Desired Economic Development

Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, affirmed the government’s support and encouragement for the country’s industrial sector to advance and return to production, in order to achieve economic development, financial inclusion, and build foreign exchange reserves.

This came during his inspection today of several factories in Khartoum and Gezira states, including (Eastern Cables, Mega Soft Drinks Factory, Al-Asaad Industrial Group, Afroking Factory for Automotive Oils and Lubricants, and Al-Ablaj Oil Factory), accompanied by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mahasin Ali Yaqoub, and the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza.

He stressed the need for these factories to cover the local market and stop the depletion of the government treasury by importing food and some consumer goods, which have continued to come from abroad throughout the war.

Jaber called on businessmen and factory owners to expedite the resumption of operations in all industrial sector institutions and create job opportunities. He praised the factory and shop owners who reopened their doors immediately after the defeat of the rebel militia.

The Sovereignty Council member noted that the High Committee for Preparing the Environment for the Return of the State of Khartoum is making commendable efforts to restore electricity services to full capacity, thus contributing to reducing operating and production costs.
