Gavi Joint Appraisal Meeting for Sudan Portfolio Convenes

At the opening of the Global Vaccine Alliance Fund( Gavi )Joint Appraisal Meeting in Port Sudan, the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) in Sudan, praising the achievements of the national team despite the challenges, especially its winning the award for the best teams in the Eastern Mediterranean Region last year.

He stressed that the Ministry is currently working on developing a national strategy for immunization in cooperation with Qafi, to ensure the continuity and expansion of operations, with high coordination with local and international partners. He also stressed that Sudan needs continuous support to overcome the challenges, pointing out the government’s full commitment to implementing the strategies adopted by Qafi, and to develop a clear plan for the coming year.

Dr. Ali Babiker called on the Qafi Organization to continue its support for the immunization program in Sudan, stressing that the national team is capable of implementing the strategy and achieving the goals, and that the immunization must continue under any circumstances.
