Federal Minister of Health: Arrangements to Open Ayala Heart Hospital Next November 2025

The Minister of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, accompanied by the Governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, and a number of leaders in the health sector, toured the Ayala Hospital for Cardiac Diseases and Surgery. This is part of the preparations for the opening of the hospital in the first week of November, with the support of the Federal Ministry of Health.

During his visit to the Ayala Hospital for Cardiac Diseases and Surgery, the Minister confirmed that an operational date is approaching, praising the steadfastness of the medical staff despite the challenges. He also directed that the provision of life-saving medicines, especially in emergency departments, be ensured.

In press statements following the visit, Prof. Yassin Mohamed Abdel Hay, Chairman of the Advisory Council for Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterization, revealed the imminent opening of the hospital after the completion of the installation of the cardiac catheterization unit, noting that the hospital will provide advanced specialized services including diagnosis and treatment, in addition to intensive care rooms and a medical interview service.

He added that the hospital includes a group of consultants in the treatment of various heart diseases, and aims to provide its services to patients from the Red Sea State and other states. He explained that heart diseases are not insignificant in the state, as four to five cases are referred daily from Port Sudan and neighboring cities, and the condition of patients often deteriorates before they reach treatment centers, which prompted the idea of establishing the center since the beginning of 2023, which started as a dream and has become a reality today.

Prof. Yassin pointed out that the initial phase of the project has been completed, as well as the intermediate phase, and there are only a few days or weeks left before its official opening, noting that the center will be transformed into an integrated hospital that provides all catheterization services, with the direct support of the National Center for Cardiac Surgery, one of the arms of the Federal Ministry of Health
