Energy Minister Directs the Provision of Transformers to Police Stations

Energy Minister Counselor Engineer Moatasem Ibrahim Ahmed affirmed that the ministry’s efforts have not and will not cease until the country’s need for transformers is met in all areas affected by the war. He directed the provision of transformers for police headquarters to provide a suitable environment for police personnel so they can fully perform their role in ensuring security in the country. This came during his meeting in his office today with the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General of Police Babiker Samra Mustafa. The meeting addressed the significant efforts made by the Ministry of Energy to provide transformers of various types to all areas that have been targeted and stolen, so that citizens can enjoy a stable electricity supply.

The Minister of Energy stated that a number of transformers are expected to arrive soon, after sufficient funding has been secured in coordination with the Ministry of Finance. He noted that he had visited several countries and met with transformer manufacturing companies to work on restoring electricity to Khartoum State and other states. This would enable citizens to implement the voluntary return program and resettle in the areas they had fled following the systematic destruction of power stations and transformers by the Rapid Support Forces militia.

The Minister of Interior stated that they have worked to recall police personnel, both officers and soldiers, to work in their various locations. This requires them and their families to settle in their various residences. Providing electricity to offices and residences is an important factor in achieving stability, which is reflected in the country’s security.
