Al-Burhan visits Egypt

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, will head to the Arab Republic of Egypt today, Wednesday, for a one-day official visit at the special invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

Al-Burhan is scheduled to hold an important meeting with President Sisi to discuss developments in the Sudanese crisis, the regional situation, and the latest developments in the vision of the Quartet Mechanism to end the war in Sudan, of which Egypt is a prominent member. Cairo consistently affirms its support for Sudan’s unity and national sovereignty, and its support for the Sudanese Armed Forces, while categorically rejecting any attempts to establish parallel governments, emphasizing the need to reach a Sudanese-Sudanese solution to the crisis.

Al-Burhan is accompanied on his visit by a high-level delegation, including the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufadal, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohieddin Salem.

This visit comes within the framework of enhancing coordination between Sudan and Egypt, and affirming Cairo’s pivotal role in supporting Sudan’s stability and ending the ongoing conflict there.
