Al-Burhan receives a written message from President Salva Kiir Mayardit

Head of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, received a written message from His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, regarding the course of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support, develop, and strengthen them in all fields.

This came during his meeting today at his office in Port Sudan with Mr. Mande Samaya Kamba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, in the presence of Ambassador Mohi El-Din Salim, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Sudan’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Lieutenant General Essam El-Din Karar.

In a press statement, the South Sudanese Foreign Minister said, “I conveyed a message from His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, to the Head of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, regarding the path of bilateral relations between the two countries, in order to achieve the common interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples, in addition to discussing issues of common interest.”

Mande explained that the meeting touched on exchanging views on ways to strengthen and advance relations and joint cooperation in all fields, and coordination between the two countries in regional and international forums.

Samaya added that the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council affirmed the government’s keenness to continue cooperation and close work with His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the Government of South Sudan to achieve common interests.

Mande described his visit to Sudan as fruitful, indicating that his meeting with the Head of the Sovereignty Council was friendly and historic.
