Al-Burhan Meets Spanish Ambassador

Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, , met today with the Spanish Ambassador to Sudan, Isidro Antonio, in the presence of Ambassador Ahmed Youssef, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them.

The Spanish ambassador said in a press statement that he conveyed to the Head of the Sovereignty Council Spain’s message of support for peace after the end of the war and the return of Sudanese refugees and displaced persons to their homes. He added that the meeting also addressed the course of relations between Sudan and Spain and the efforts his country could undertake in post-war reconstruction operations.

The Spanish ambassador expressed his hope that Sudan would return to the path of democratic civilian transition and allow civilians to play their assigned roles in various fields. He affirmed his country’s support for the Sudanese people as they overcome this ordeal, noting the importance of ending this war, which has destroyed vital infrastructure and facilities.
