The Minister of Health meets with the Emergency Management and Epidemic Control

Within the framework of the follow-up of the technical committees to combat epidemics and disease vectors, the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, held a meeting with the General Directorate of Health Emergencies and Epidemic Control. The meeting focused on the administrative and technical arrangements to lead the emergency work at the level of the country’s states, noting that a report on the epidemiological situation and health emergencies was presented, in addition to the autumn situation in a number of states.

It was pointed out that the readings of some of them show an increase in the rate of disease vectors, which calls for arrangements for the coming period, where the development of measures, the most important of which is the technical and financial federal support, and the identification of the basic needs of aids and mobile aids, as well as mechanisms of intervention and communication about them with donors and the Ministry of Finance, as well as the governors of the country. The states stressed the need to mobilize the popular effort and activate local action, especially for the states of Gezira, Sennar, White Nile, River Nile and North Kordofan.

The minister stressed that the meeting also addressed the need to activate the high platform of the Supreme Ministerial Committee, which will hold its meeting tomorrow, Sunday, in the presence of all relevant ministries, and to shed light on these epidemics while urging popular advocacy and support from the state, in addition to moving the roles of other ministries, including the federal government, local government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, and other ministries that have direct work with health in such cases.
