The Minister of Health Meets the Supreme Council of Civil Defense

As part of the general alert to combat disease vectors in Khartoum State, the General Secretariat of Civil Defense has launched an initiative to support the campaign to combat disease vectors in Khartoum State, starting next Sunday for a week, beginning from the locality of Ombada.

The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, stated in press statements after the meeting today in his office with the leaders of the Civil Defense Council, including the Chairman of the Council, His Excellency Lieutenant General Osman Atta, and Major General Qureshi Hussein Abdel Qader, that the campaign also includes popular advocacy and mobilization for the dehydration initiative that was launched yesterday, in addition to the removal of rubble and environmental sanitation. He emphasized that with the integration of popular and official efforts, the situation will improve, thus reducing the rate of morbidity and deaths.

The head of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Civil Defense, His Excellency Lieutenant General Osman Atta, confirmed that the secretariat presented the initiative to the minister, noting that the preparation for the campaign has been completed.

The campaign will start next Sunday from the locality of Ombada, with the participation of 500 employees of the council, 50 razazi pumps, in addition to 10 fog pumps, and the same pumps will be used as intake pumps. He added that the campaign focuses on drying in all seven localities of the state, with foggy and razazi spraying.
