The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health meets with the Sudan Youth Union

The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, praised the efforts of the Sudan Youth Union, stressing that it is the youth who make the difference in times of crisis and that they have a great ambition for reconstruction. This came during his meeting with the delegation of the federation headed by Ali Abdel Hadi at the quarantine hall in Port Sudan.

The Undersecretary explained the importance of joint coordination with ministries to benefit from the energies of young people and rehabilitate them, praising the “One Million Volunteers” campaign and the role of grassroots action in supporting public health. He stressed the ministry’s readiness to train youth, especially in the fields of disease vector control, hygiene, vaccination, and psychological support, pointing out that more than ten thousand young people were trained before the war in first aid and continued training during the war, including traffic and airport staff.

He also stressed the importance of youth participation in delivering medicine supplies to Darfur states, and cooperating with organizations to launch campaigns to combat cholera and distribute mosquito nets. He thanked the Federation for its participation in the blood donation program, calling for coordination with the National Program for Blood Bank Services.

The head of the Sudan Youth Union, Ali Abdel Hadi, expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Health, explaining that the union is registered in 18 states and is active in 12 of them. He pointed to the Union’s participation in the Battle of Dignity, the provision of health and humanitarian services, and the provision of 5,000 volunteers in Khartoum State as part of the “One Million Volunteers” campaign. He also reviewed the operational plan of the mobile clinics project, and affirmed the readiness of the Federation to participate in the reconstruction.
