The Undersecretary of Health Ministry and the Governor of Khartoum inaugurate the Al-Shabia Health Center

With the support of the Kuwait Patients Relief Fund and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the second phase of the Rehabilitation of Basic Health Centers project in Khartoum State was launched today. This project comes within the framework of efforts to reconstruct health institutions in the state, amid the high-level official participation provided by the patronage of the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, and the honor of the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim.
The second phase of the project targeted five centers, including the centers of Al-Shaabi South, Al-Salamah West, Al-Jili, Family 14 in um Al-Qura, and Al-Zakiyab, where the rehabilitation included improving infrastructure, providing beds, furniture, and medical consumables, installing solar energy systems, in addition to providing infection control supplies, motivating health workers for three months, and training fifty volunteers to participate in promoting community health.
The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health praised the performance of the Khartoum State Government, appreciating its efforts in opening health projects during the war, and considered the project part of the reconstruction process, expressing his thanks to the Kuwait Patient Assistance Fund and the International Organization for Migration, and stressing the importance of sustaining operating and health insurance services in health centers to ease the burden on hospitals.
The Governor of Khartoum State praised the continuous support provided by the Kuwait Fund, calling for continuing to improve the quality of health services and fill the shortcomings, committed to providing the needs of citizens in the fields of health, water and electricity, and expressed his wishes for victory in the Battle of Dignity, pointing out that the Federal Ministry of Health has started its work from its headquarters on Nile Street.
The Director General of the Health Sector Khartoum state, Acting Minister Dr. Fathur Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, expressed his gratitude to the government of Khartoum for putting health among its priorities, appreciating the role of medical staff and health work partners, noting that health institutions are treating the wounded in the battle of Al-Karama, and also preached to citizens that work at a Bahri Hospital is imminent.
The Executive Director of the Patient Assistance Fund, Dr. Abdul Majeed Fadlallah, confirmed that the Fund is working in eleven states with fixed centers, in addition to continuing work in the rest of the states.
