The Federal Minister of Health directs to develop a clear vision for the financing of the fight against epidemics

In the presence of the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, the Federal Emergency Operations Center held its 104th meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters in Khartoum, reviewing the health conditions in the country during a week and the interventions implemented by the various departments.
The Minister directed to develop a clear vision for financing emergency and epidemic control activities for the remainder of the year 2025, with partners, as well as directing to intensify efforts to combat epidemics, especially dengue fever, adding that it needs more effort and greater funding, calling on partners from organizations to accurately determine their contributions.
The minister praised the collective effort exerted, stressing that the construction period needs a lot of work, “we have a lot of work ahead of us, as the risks are still there.”
The surveillance and information report revealed that the rate of cholera infection decreased in some states, and increased in others, with (1210) cholera cases recorded during a week, including (36) deaths, bringing the cumulative total to
(102831) Injury, including
(2561) deaths from July 2024, while dengue fever (723) infections, including (two deaths), so that the cumulative since the beginning of the year becomes (6180) infections, including (9) deaths, while measles infections (22) infections without deaths, so that the cumulative is (2835) infections, including (8) deaths, pointing to (66) heatstroke infections, and cumulative (287) infections, including (7) deaths.
He pointed out that (79) cases of hepatitis (A.E.) without deaths, and (1959) cumulative infections, including (7) deaths.
The report on the response and treatment of cases indicated that the incidence of cholera has decreased in some states, and increased in others, with the continuation of various activities.
In addition, the autumn report noted that 3 states were affected, including 6 localities and 8 regions, and (812) families and (4081) individuals were affected, so that the cumulative from June 30 to August 25 was 7 states.
The report of the Environmental Health and Food Control pointed to the implementation of activities in various axes in a number of states, including spraying to control vectors, water health and safety, and the start of distributing saturated nets, as well as the report on health promotion in various activities, including community dialogues, messages in the media .
