Minister of Interior Chairs Security and State Prestige Committee Meeting in Khartoum

Lieutenant General (Police), Babiker Samra Mustafa, Minister of Interior, chaired today a meeting of the Security and State Prestige Committee in Khartoum State at the Ministry of Interior Hall. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General (Police), Khalid Hassan Mohi El-Din, Director General of the Police Forces, and committee members from relevant authorities.

The meeting heard a briefing on the progress of the committees’ work from the committee heads, reviewed the decisions of the previous meeting, and discussed the report of the committee to evacuate Khartoum State of armed groups.

It is noteworthy that a number of armed movements have begun relocating their forces to areas outside the state. This is in addition to the report of the Follow-up Committee for the Removal of Informal Housing in Khartoum State. The report outlined the plan for removing the targeted areas and the level of implementation at the local level. The report also outlined the follow-up committee for the evacuation of foreigners and refugees from Khartoum State, which was presented by the Commissioner of Refugees. Directives were issued to expedite the implementation of decisions to relocate refugees to the proposed areas. The meeting also addressed the implementation of decisions regarding the illegal felling of trees and the filing of reports against aggressors under the supervision of the Public Prosecution.

The meeting reviewed the security and criminal situation in Khartoum State and the implementation of the committee’s decisions through local committees, including conducting patrols and intensifying patrols to secure neighborhoods, markets, and strategic sites. The head of the media committee presented a comprehensive report on media coverage of the committee’s activities during the past week.
