Masoud Boulos: We are horrified by reports of the horrific situation in El Fasher

US President Trump’s Senior Advisor for African Affairs, Masoud Boulos, said they are “horrified by reports of the horrific situation in El Fasher, North Darfur, Sudan.”

Boulos added in a tweet posted on his X account tonight: “The Rapid Support Forces must take urgent action to ensure aid reaches those affected by famine in El Fasher and the surrounding IDP camps, amid the ongoing escalation. The warring parties must fulfill their obligations under the Jeddah Declaration and implement UN Security Council Resolution 2736, including protecting civilians and allowing unhindered humanitarian access in Darfur and throughout the country. The lives of innocent people, including women and children, depend on it.”

Two days ago, Trump’s senior advisor condemned the killings attributed to the Rapid Support Forces militia against displaced persons in the Abu Shouk camp near El Fasher.

The content of the two tweets is the clearest American position condemning and denouncing the atrocities committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia against the residents of El Fasher. This sends important signals to the militia and its supporters, potentially leading to its being labeled as perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
