Jaber Addresses the Centennial Celebration of the Armed Forces

Member of the Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, addressed the celebration of the centenary of the Sudanese Army and the (71) anniversary of the Sudanization of the leadership at the Cultural Center in Omdurman.

The event was attended by Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabron, Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Babiker Samra, Governor of Khartoum Ahmed Osman Hamza, Commander of the Air Defense Forces Lieutenant General Abdelkheir Abdullah, and a host of security leaders, pioneers of singing, theater, and literature.

In his address to the celebration, the Sovereignty Council member saluted the sacrifices and bravery of the Sudanese Army, from the Sudan Defense Force to the current War of Dignity, as it fights with honor and achieves victories on all fronts, alongside other regular and supporting forces.

Noting the 71st anniversary of the Sudanese military leadership and armed forces’ Sudanization, he emphasized that they are backed by the will of the great Sudanese people, who stood as an impregnable bulwark during the Battle of Dignity against attempts by enemies to infiltrate society and undermine national unity. However, the people were able to thwart those who plotted against the nation’s security and stability.

The Sovereignty Council member pointed out that the gathering of the people of Omdurman at this cultural center, which brought together all Sudanese cultures, represents the first building block for the unification of the nation. He called for the need for the pioneers of the Omdurman Cultural Center to convey the heritage, culture, and values of the great Sudanese people to the world. His Excellency also pledged to provide an integrated sound system for the center and support all the creative individuals who participated in commemorating the centenary of the Armed Forces.

It is noteworthy that the celebration of Army Day and the reactivation of the Omdurman Cultural Center was attended by prominent Sudanese artists, headed by Dr. Abdul Qader Salem, Majzoub Onsa, the Engineering Corps Band, and pioneers of the National Theater. The celebration also included a book and visual arts exhibition, in addition to performances by the Scout Band and Sudanese folklore and heritage bands.
