Formation of the Supreme Council for the Sudanese Community in Egypt

The Secretariat of the Sudanese Working Abroad (SSWA) announced the formation of the Supreme Council for the Sudanese Community in Egypt. This comes as part of the Secretariat’s plan to reorganize the Sudanese presence abroad in line with the requirements of the current phase and achieve the state’s goals of unifying Sudanese expatriates to serve the nation and citizens abroad, support the battle for dignity, support the armed forces, and rebuild the country.
The Secretary-General of the SSWA, Dr. Abdul Rahman Sayed Ahmed Zein El Abidine, concluded a successful seven-day visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt for this purpose.
During the visit, he held several meetings with members of the Sudanese community in Egypt and representatives of Sudanese entities, associations, and societies. He also met with the Sudanese Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Lieutenant General Imad El Din Mustafa Adawi. The visit also included the city of Aswan, where he met with the Consul General of Sudan in Aswan, Ambassador Abdel Qader Abdullah.
The visit comes within the framework of the SSWA’s plan to reorganize the Sudanese presence abroad in line with and achieve the goals of the current phase.
The Secretary-General of the SSWA was accompanied during the visit by Dr. Hassan Babiker Ahmed, Director-General of Communities and Immigration at the SSWA, and members of the Joint Committee for the Management of the Sudanese Presence Abroad, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and several other regulatory bodies.
The Secretary-General’s visit to the Arab Republicp of Egypt lasted seven days, during which he held several meetings with members of the Sudanese community in Egypt and representatives of entities. During the visit, he met with the Sudanese Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Lieutenant General Imad al-Din Mustafa Adawi. He also met with the Consul General of Sudan in Aswan, Ambassador Abdul Qader Abdullah.
The visit comes within the framework of the Sudanese Expatriates Authority’s plan to organize the Sudanese presence abroad in a manner consistent with and achieving the objectives of the current phase.
The Sudanese presence in Egypt is considered the oldest and most established in the world of migration.
The Secretary-General of the Sudanese Working Abroad emphasized that the formation of the Supreme Council for the Sudanese Community in Egypt came through consensus among various popular entities and associations in Cairo, which includes many active voluntary initiatives and associations, especially after the displacement of large numbers of Sudanese to Egypt due to the war. This prompted initiatives, popular associations, and community organizations to exert significant efforts to organize the Sudanese presence there. They emphasized the importance of integrating roles between the community and the embassy, as well as the directives of the Joint Committee for the Management of the Sudanese presence Abroad, headed by the SSWA and composed of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other bodies. The first, second, and third consultative meetings were held. The Executive Office was formed of (25) members, with a focus on programs, particularly youth and sports, and women’s and children’s issues.
Furthermore, the Secretary-General of the SSWA reiterated the importance of forming the Executive Office for the community in a manner that takes into account the various segments of the Sudanese population in Egypt.
