Khartoum Governor Calls on Khartoum Residents to Return and Contribute in the Reconstruction

The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, called on the residents of Khartoum State to return to their areas and contribute to reconstruction.

He added, “The government alone will not be able to rebuild Khartoum. It is imperative that the efforts of the citizens and the government be combined.”

He pointed out that the police will cooperate with citizens to form community security committees and provide them with weapons to protect their areas and homes.
He pointed out that the extent of the devastation and destruction is extensive, and that the government has made great efforts to prepare the conditions for people’s return, and that there are good news to come.

The Governor of Khartoum confirmed that Omdurman will soon be without power outages, and that work is ongoing in Khartoum and Khartoum North to provide water and electricity.
He added, “We removed the informal settlements because they have become dens of crime and places for storing citizens’ stolen goods. We will continue to do so in all the informal settlements in the capital.”
