Kamil Idris Announces Plans for Rehabilitating Khartoum Refinery

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris observed the extent of the destruction caused by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia at the Khartoum Oil Refinery and the Gari Thermal Power Plant. He described the visit as historic in every sense of the word.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the refinery will be restored to better condition than before. He said, “We witnessed the extent of the systematic destruction of all the refinery facilities and the Gari power plant,” announcing the development of the necessary plans to restore this national treasure and important facilities to better condition than before.

The Prime Minister added, “This national treasure will return, and we will learn lessons and morals from it.” He praised the efforts of all the workers who preserved what remained of these facilities, calling for the need to work to preserve the human resources, urging a strong determination and will to preserve these facilities.
