AcoGaps Organizes Early Recovery and Reconstruction Course

The high-level training course on early recovery and reconstruction began today at the Martyrs’ Hall, headed by the Seaports Authority in Port Sudan.
The course was organized by the African Center for Governance, Peace, and Transition Studies (AcoGaps), as part of its ongoing efforts to support national institutions in promoting voluntary return and reconstruction.

AcoGaps focuses on providing technical support, including raising awareness of early recovery and reconstruction concepts, programs, and projects, in addition to training and capacity-building for those working in this field, preparing studies and research, providing consultations, and sharing experiences.

The training course aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of those involved in reconstruction programs in government institutions, civil society, and the private sector. The opening session was addressed by Engineer Mohamed Saleh Al-Hassan Al-Sameeh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Urban Development, Roads and Bridges; Ms. Buthaina Rahma, Deputy Representative of the Ministry of Social Development; Dr. Al-Amin Adam Abu Al-Qasim, Director of the General Administration of International Financial Institutions at the Ministry of Finance, representing the Undersecretary of Planning; and Dr. Mahmoud Zein El Abidine, Director of the AcoGaps.

The training content was presented by Professor Adam Ahmed Suleiman, a regional trainer and professor of economics and development at universities, and a number of experts.

The opening session was attended by Major General Bahloul Babiker Kodi, Deputy Chairman of the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission; Professor Haider Al-Sanousi, an international expert; Dr. Mohamed Adam Ahmed; and a number of experts from the AcoGaps.
